I just came back from picking up my USP and was surprised to find that it had a slide lock on it. I hadn't heard about this "feature." Is this a new development?
i'm guessing your talking about that thing you screw down so the slide can't move? i think all these things are pretty stupid but as long as it doesn't effect the reliability of the gun it doesn't really matter since you don't have to use it.
in the HK 2000 catalog they show a picture of this but not in the 1999 catalog. so i'm guessing its a pretty new adition to their guns.
When our Dept issued us our New USPS, they kept all the keys in a box in the armory. We were told about the mechanism during transition training simply so that we did not mess with it.
I only hope that some less enlightened depts haven't instructed officers to lock there guns up when off duty.. just to be safe... I think we know where that would lead!
