slide/frame fit of P99

p99 ownwers, i'm just wondering hows the slide to frame fit of your p99s. mine has a bit of "play" , about 1 mm or less but when you remove the magazne and shake the pistol, you can hear a rattling sound. is this alright? will this affect durability of the pistol?

thanks

Mine has a SMALL ammount of "play" - but honestly it's less than I think a "combat pistol" should have for reliable functioning in adverse conditions. The "play" or rattle is what made the old battlefield 1911's so reliable.

Just my $0.02

;) So how does it shoot? Mine rattles a little with the mag out, but I can shoot very good groups with it at combat range (21 ft).

If it shoots good, I don't think there's a problem.

Regards,
James

i have't noticed any "play" in mine, it is a well fit, well made firearm. i have recently spoken with a friend who is going to look into picking up one for himself.

i would recommend this firearm to anyone in the market for a "damn good gun".

That's not "play", that's working tolerances.

It can be found in any gun to one extent or another. It's normal. It's fine. Go shoot.

thanks for the feedback guys!

fired about 200 rds. the other day and i'm pleased to say that there were no malfunctions. very reliable pistol and very accurate, too (not to mention very good looking pistol) :).
