Slide Durability of C-75 & CZ-97?

I read some threads here about the slides of their EAA Witnesses cracking, especially that thin slide rail area to the rear of the ejection port.

Have any of you CZ owners experienced these? I'm really interested in buying a cz75B and 97B but durability is a must.

Since the EAAs are of similar design as the CZs, I'm just curious.

Thanks in advance!

I talked to a commercial range owner that had several CZ75's with over 30,000 rounds through them. The gun has been on the market for 25 years, and I've never heard reports of any slide wear problems. That one of the CZ clones might have had problems isn't meaningful.

I had a CZ75 upto the 1997 ban over here.

Bomb proof pistol - the slide and frame steel, engineering and design cannot be faulted. Previous report bears out feed back I had from numerous commercial range operators - CZ 75s took 25,000 rnds in their stride.

Generously bored barrels declined in accuracy after 6-7000 rnds - but not worn out by any means.

They were very popular here - but with few after market goodies - they didn't need them.

Steel quality and manufacturing quality were getting close to SIG P210 territory - ever tried to mark one of then with a file?

That quality tened to be hidden by a bit naff blacking/ blue that BRNO applied.

But for heaven's sake do n't attempt to go beyond normal field strip ( shouldn't need to anyway ) - unless you have the ability to collect small springs from carpets and enjoy long, long, long nights trying to put puzzels together.

You got that right.

Now, they are not THAT bad. But they are a good example of the kind of pistol that should not be taken apart unless necessary. I do rather wish folks would stop tearing apart guns that don't need tearing apart, then coming on here and asking what they broke, where to get some part (usually described as a "thingy"), or how to put the gun back together.

NOT A-SCARED A-NUTHIN

Except disassembly of my EAA Witness sear/safety/mainspring stuff.

HAD to do a trigger once (installed curvier trigger) but still have not attempted back-end dismantle.

SUGGESTION = Disassemble inside box (may help capture errant springs)..........
