SL8 Hi-Cap mags?

I may come into one here pretty soon and am also on the hunt for hi caps for it. I'm watchin' this post closely...

Yeah this is my best last hope. What I know for a fact is that the receiver has been modified to prevent it from accepting G36 magazines. The Knight's Armament Company has a line of other parts available for the SL8 too.

Don't think so..

HK only makes 10 rd mags for the SL8 from what i've seen. As you know the receiver of the rifle is a modified G36 receiver that can only take the low-cap magazines. From what I understand the bolt carrier can only pull from single stack magazines as well. So even if you get a G36 magwell and magazine and modify the receiver, you still need the G36 bolt to be able to pull ammo from a double stack magazine. I've seen conversion kits out there but they ain't cheap. Any you still have a rifle with a goofy looking thumbhole stock. I bought an SL8 with some intensions of making it look like a G36, but it is too much work/money. Mostly just gathers dust these days.

I saw a SL-8 for sale here in CT at the Newington Gun Exchange. It had a magwell that excepted AR mags. I don't know who made the replacement magwell though.

Spear Mags

Hi Cap SL8-4/5 mags, these will go straight into the 4/5 models of the SL8 but you would need the G36 magwell conversion for the SL8-1.

ProMag (yes, ProMag) makes 20 round mags that have been 100% reliable. They are extremely well built. The downside is that since the mags are single stack the mag hangs way down interfering with bench and prone shooting. 922r may also be an issue.

To tell you the truth, although I picked up four of the 20 round mags I'm quite happy with the rifle with the ten round mags considering the type of rifle that it is. It's more of a target type rifle rather than a tactical so round capacity for me is no real concern. Ten will do just fine.
