SKS Hunting Ammo

Does anyone have experience with 125g SP Barnaul or 154g SP Wolf in 7.62x39? I've heard about Wolf HP's not expanding due to their peculiar construction and small opening. Do the SP's expand any better? How does the heavier bullet do in SKS rifling?

I know there are better choices. The advantage of these rounds is that they're cheap enough to plink and practice with.

I'm mostly interested in hunting feral pigs and varminting, out to about 100 yards or whatever realistic range the SKS accuracy permits.

With the Search function down, you'll have to hunt around through some threads for the discussion...

But, I recall that the Wolf stuff isn't a hunting style of hollowpoint. I also recall mention of some US-made good-quality hunting ammo.

Search is up!

I had good success with Winchester 123 grain softpoints. 100 yards was pushing my abilities with the iron sights. Severaal friends use the el cheapo scopes with good success.
