SKS Gas Assembly?

A few years ago, I sold my Norinco SKS to a friend of mine. I just got it back from him today, but during that time he misplaced the gas assembly (no clue how). Now I'm in the market for another one. I've seen a few gas tubes w/handguards for sale online, but I'm in need of the entire gas system and I'm unsure as to whether these include the inner parts. My question: Can anyone direct me somewhere that will have the entire gas assembly/handguard? The gun has a black folding stock, so I'm hoping to get a handguard that will match that
 
That's going to be tough. If I recall correctly the Euro SKS rifles' gas block, tube and pistons are slightly different from the Chinese - or is it the other way around? In any case they won't be an exact fit - no drop in parts there. Add that to the fact that the Chinese SKS rifles are getting more and more difficult to get a hold of as well as the fact that you have an aftermarket polymer stock on that you'd like the handguard to match and you're going to have a hell of a time finding the parts you want.

I'd suggest contacting the folks over at sksboards.com and see if any of them know of a good source for parts. Either that or light a fire under your friend's rear end till he finds the parts he misplaced. Oh just a question about that - why on earth would you buy an incomplete rifle especially if you sold the same rifle as a complete unit previously?
 
i got it back for a significantly lower price, and i guess i assumed it wouldn't be be too hard to find a gas assembly. i'll go over to the board you recommended. thanks
