SKS 5 round detachable

Ok I went to an military surplus store I haven't been into in ages. And it turns out the fellow who owned it passed 2 years ago and now his wife and son run the place and did'nt get a FFL so they didnt have much...except for a older SKS stuff including 5 round conversion kit (see below). So I bought it and a pair of old boots plus some other items and when I got home found out I have to tap the rifle.

It was made by "northfeild Gun shop" and that's all I know.

So my question is has anyone used one of these? Do they have any issues? And do they compromise the rifles integrity?

(it is the bottom one . (disclaimer) this is not mine just a pic off the net)

alright I finally got around to setting it up and now I just need to tap a hole in it for the front piece. even with out being bolted on it seems to work very well and mag changes are very easy except that it is not bolted on. definitly works better than those tapco crap mags .

I am looking for someone to convert Mini-30 Magazines to work with this kit. If you know anyone who is willing I would pay up to $30 plus the magazine to have it done

Little more information. Cobray made these back in the 80's/90's (I dont know who "Bill" is from my original.) and most where high cap 30rnd magazines but they made a few 5rnd mags as well. they are said to be unreliable but we will see when I start testing

Update: I have stated my own venture into these magazines and have found the original kit to be reliable IF you replace the front peg with a bit of metal other wise after 60 or so mag swaps they start to wear down. Also I have also been able to create new magazines from cheap steel AK-47 Magazines.

Anywho If you need to know how to install it here is a video I made
