Skeet with defender1300?

My girlfriends dad wants to go skeet shooting with me and my new shotgun, However I have the defender..... I know technically I can do this with the shotgun but will it be accurate enough? should I buy a longer barrel for the 1300 and change it out every once in a while, or should i save and buy a used shotgun, or will the defender barrel be good enough for a noob? this will be my first time shooting at moving targets and im pretty sure it is more on the operater than the gun I think.... Also im not exactly gonna knock em dead my first time even with a top notch shotgun im sure but please reply with what you suggest.
also what shells do you reccomend for this?
