size comparison kahr k9 vs. heritage stealth

haven't had a chance to shoot them yet (they're not mine) but then you only asked for a size comparison...

the stealth is:
1. wider, both the silde and the double stack mag
2. lighter, ploymer frame
3. shorter, vertically
4. trigger is wider but mushy
5. should recoil less due to its gas delay

hope that helps, also hope he lets me shoot them soon

Toast -

I'm getting the feeling by the tone of your questions that you want a CCW, and the Stealth is in the running :)

I looked at one briefly when I was first shopping for a new CCW. My guess is, you like it because it's small, light, and inexpensive, but it's not very common.... And the Kahr you like because it's small and has a great reputation, but it's a little pricey and HEAVY! Might I suggest the Kahr P series? They cost less than the K models, are EXTREMELY light, and carry like they're not even there.

I've heard mixed reviews of the Stealth... and it functions similarly to the HK P7 series... but there's a reason that those babies cost >$1000 sometimes... The gas piston setup takes $$$ to do it right...

My biggest reason for sticking to a "name brand" for CCW was TRUST. The EXCELLENT customer service from Kahr made me feel confident about trusting my life (and my wife's) to the Kahrs. Yes, I did have some issues with a VERY early P9, but Kahr always treated me very well, and my P40 has not experienced any reliability issues.

Good luck, and welcome to TFL

Onslaught

thanks I would have missed that one. I had a p9 at one time but found the grip was to slim and was not comfortable. Pretty darn tempting though... maybe it wasn't that uncomfortable...

Toast - I know what you mean on the Grip...

Gripping my P40 always reminded me of a broom handle (not the mauser :) )
After spending the $23.00 shipped for the Brooks Tactical A-Grip, it feels more like an industrial mop handle :D

But when I'm carrying IWB with my Glock 27 and sit down in the car or at a restaurant booth, I remember all over again why I tolerate the small grip of the Kahr ;)
