Sistema glamour photos!

I was kinda bored the other day, so I set up a couple fancy photos of my new Sistema. First is the TFL Traditional (tm) shot: the Sistema, two GI mags full of 230-grain hardball, and my sgian dubh.

Some info: The Sistema was made in 1961 or 1962 (the serial number reference I found wasn't 100% specific). The hammer, trigger, sear, beavertail, and mainspring housing are replacement Wilson Combat parts, and the trigger's been worked over to a very nice 3.5# pull. I think it shoots slightly high and left at longer ranges (25 yards+), but that could be me shooting high and left. Handily, it cycles SWC ammo without a hitch. I love it! :)

I picked up the knife at a smallish Mountain Man rendesvous a few years ago. My pipe band was playing there, and I needed a new sgian dubh (aka boot knife). The handle is made of antler, and fits my hand quite nicely.

The second photo is where my Sistema really belongs. It is, after all, a 40-year-old military sidearm. Since I don't have access to any 1960s Argentine militaria, I use my Dad's 1940s US gear instead. And since a blade seems to be an obligatory component of any TFL gun photo, I included a 1943 issue machete. :)

Very nice! I like the GI pic better.

I just ordered a Sistema too and I'm camped out on the front porch waiting for the UPS truck! :)

No longer have this beauty but I still cry when I take out the pictures of her.I replaced the slide with an STI slide and added a Nowlin 4lb drop-in trigger kit along with a Kings beavertail grip safety.CMC thumb safety and trigger.Had it all Cobra Chromed at www.trippresearch.com who by the way gives a generous discount to C&R holders. His turnaround it 8 days and he does beautiful work.
