I bought a couple of them. I am putting one back as-is in the safe and I am tinkering with the other one to learn 1911's. So far I am well-pleased with the Systemas. Once I finish hanging all the "improvements" off the one that I am modifying, I will let you all know how it shoots. A few comments: The barrels on both my guns look virtually new. I was prepared to change them, but for now at least, I think I'll keep them. Slide to frame fit is unbelievable. The .45's that I carried in my Army days would rattle when you shook 'em. Not these Systemas. I can feel no vertical or side to side play. The trigger pull is straight military -- hard, but usable for a self-defense gun. I have a Nowlin drop-in trigger job kit that I intend to install when I have the time. The accuracy out of the box exceeded my expectations. It actually seemed to shoot quite well indeed with 230 grain FMJ's from Georgia Arms. Sights on the military weapon are military sights -- tiny. You could actually do some fine shooting with them if the trigger were better, but I am replacing them with Kings. Metal work is generally good. The interior surfaces are virtually devoid of tool marks. It appears that the arsenal refinish on the Systema Colts was a bead-blast preparation followed by hot blue. I found some rust starting to form when I removed the mainspring housing on one gun, so I would advise anyone with a Systema to do a detailed strip, clean, and lubricate job soon after getting the gun. Finally, I had forgotten what a real "pleasure" hammer-bite is. If you use a high grip and have paws any bigger than average, you too will develop that bloodblister between your thumb and forefinger. The Wilson safety should take care of that whenever it arrives.
