Single Six Jamming Help

Anyone had this happen...

NIB Single Six: Pointed to floor jams almost everytime I try to cock hammer. Point to ceiling and it cocks everytime. Hold on target and its a crap shoot, jams 3-4 times in a row, then 25 times no jams. The transfer bar isn't jamming under the firing pin. It stops about a 1/8" short of it. About a 1/2 of the time the jam can be remedied by pushing the base pin all the way in because it has quite a bit of play. It will do all this with either cylinder and without the cylinder.

Called Ruger and they are sending me a new base pin and transfer bar. Anyone else have any ideas while I'm waiting for them to come.

Picked this gun up yesterday and it jammed the first time I tried to cock the hammer. Just my luck bragging all the time about never getting a Ruger with a problem. It's the Lipseys limited 4 5/8 SS convertable 22lr/22mag.

I've never heard of that problem. But, if there is one thing I absolutely know, it's that Ruger is one of the two companies I have no doubt will definately take care of you.

I'll only buy from S&W and Ruger because of that fact.

I had similar problem with a older 22 mag onlySS I bought. Turns out it was the pin/shaft that goes through the fron of the frame, center of cyl and holds the cyl in place. I'm not sure of the proper term for this part.( Is that the Base pin?) It was just worn to the edge of the tollerance i guess. It would back out ( just so the end didn't protrude through the frame under teh FP. A few fireings and everything would lock up. Push it in, and everything freed up again. The dealer replaced the pin ( which was slightly longer)and everything worked fine.
Hope yours is as easy a fix.
