Single Six and SAA

I was just wondering about the Ruger Single-Six's size compared to the original Single Action Army. Is it bigger? Smaller? A perfect reproduction?

Its Smaller

Single Six's are 22 or 22 magnums and the overall frame and size of the gun is considerably smaller than an original or reproduction Single action 45 or 44.

still a nice revolver...

I think the Single Six is about 75% the scale, but again, I do not know. I'm probably wrong. I'm neither a Ruger representive nor have I stayed in a Holiday Inn.

What I do know is that even if it is smaller, it fits a large, meaty manly hand jus' fine. The Bearcat, on the other hand, feels almost toylike.

I certainly can't afford a Colt SAA for comparison, but I also believe Single-Sixes are a bit smaller. On the other hand, the Black Hawk and Old Modle Vaquero are slightly larger. The New Modle Vaquero is much closer in size and weight to the original Colt, but in .45LC it isn't advised(or rated) to load hot and heavy...
