Single shot

I have a 12 guage, single shot, Thompson Center, shotgun for turkey hunting. I owned a single shot .410 as a kid and have been wanting a lighter gauge single shot shotgun since last year (the 12's recoil is brutal in the TC with a turkey load).
I saw a Mossberg single shot, break action, 20 gauge in Gander Mountain about a month ago. I almost bought it. I think it was around $200. I didn't even know Mossberg made one - it was brand new, had a ported barrel and double bead sight. I wanted to find out more about it but couldn't find it anywhere on the internet. Went back to look again but it was gone.
I do have an interest in the CZ single shot (waiting to see one in person).

H&R likely makes the most popular break-open single-shot shotgun on the market. Simple and reliable...certainly nothing fancy. But they work well for the money and what they are intended to be. The finish and build quality seems to be improved a bit, IMO, since Marlin bought H&R....and, oh yeah, since Remington bought Marlin. H&R shotguns and rifles, formerly made in Gardner, MA., are now made at the old Remington plant in Ilion, NY.

If you want to go old school, you can try and find Savage 220 single shots. Available in 12-16-20-28-410. I have all but the 410. They can sometimes be found for $150-$200. Nice oldguns. Jim
