Single Shot, Multi-Caliber Rifles

I've been wanting a new rifle for awhile but can't decide on a caliber (.308, 5.56) or platform. I know T/C and Rossi make rifles that have interchangeable barrels for different calibers. Are there any others? Anyone have any experience with them and are they reliable?

I have a H&R handy rifle with 4 barrels, 45-70, 25-06, 223, 357 mag.

technically, you're supposed to send the rifle in for a new barrel fitting, but I haven't yet and all my barrels are snug fits.

H&R has a good selection of calibers and they're $300 for a high end

TC is a very well proven platform,,,

I do not own one myself but I have many friends with various TC rigs.

No one has a bad thing to say about them,,,
Except for the fact they are a bit funky looking.

One friend has one frame/stock,,,
And a "bed-roll" of barrels.

I do like single-shot break-open rifles,,,
By all I have heard the TC is the Cadillac of the breed.

but whats the price on a blazer k95? $1k+

and the additional barrels?

TC barrels are $200+

H&R barrels, even sent in to the factory, are less than $150 with shipping both ways included

Does it have an auto ejector on it?

$6000 for the rifle  and $1500 additional barrel

I didn't see the .22-.250 caliber listed as being available on your website for a Blazer K95.

They look nice but are way out of my price range.

The thompson is a great gun. The handi-rifle is a good gun. I have the handi-rifle and two barrels and I havent had any problems with it and the .243 barrel will shoot sub-moa with corlokt ammo. If you can afford the thompson that would be theone I would get.

I would do a little "googling" before I popped for the Thompson. All of the folks I know that had them except one, ditched them because of inconsistent accuracy. If you search it, you will find this also and it is an expensive gun to own and it not group consistently.

I have Contenders and they do not suffer from this malady.

What Ive found with my T/C pro hunter (204,223,22-250, 25-06) all shoot fairly well an inch and under a couple right at a 1/2". This isn't bad but each time I switich barrels point of impact will change, never very far 1 to 2 inches but enough to require scope adjustments. I do have what T/C is called a target pivot pin which didn't make any difference when switiching barrels but it did help improve accuracy on the 223 and 22-250.
I like the concept but I may not be following the mind set, which my be rifle, shotgun, black powder.

homesick, if there's screws on the fore end, make sure you have consistent torque on the screws and your POI/POA shouldnt change

Mwells I have tried adjusting the screws to see if the impact changes from snug to tight just does not seem to make much of a difference. I even call T/C and asked if there was a recommended tightness setting, inch pounds etc. The lady there said nope we just tighten em down. (quote):)

I had a 25-06 and a 223 in the H&R both shot fairly good but my boys seemed to like them, so ya know where they are now
