Single Action Revolvers "unsafe" in Mass!

I went down to the local gunshop in Worcester Mass last night to finally pick up the 44 mag blackhawk I'd been looking at last month. The employee took it out of the case and handed it to me. He said " Beautiful pistol huh, too bad I can't sell it to you." My freakin jaw dropped. Why not? Because of the light trigger pull. He suggested I buy a double action redhawk. Screw that, I wanted the light trigger pull. Do I have to move to another state?
Puking in Mass :p

Thumb back the hammer on the Redhawk, and its trigger pull is as light as... I'd better stop, some legislative version of Gladys Kravitz may be reading this.

It seems what's really unsafe in Taxachussetts these days are your rights as a citizen and a human being.

There has got to be a breaking point here soon, the question is which way it will break...

There is a GOAL rally close to me today at 11. I am leaving work early to support the cause. Any other Mass tflers should show up if you ever want to buy another gun in this state.

I think that I'd better not say anything about this situation in Mass. cuz I'd be using 4 letter words all the time. Thank goodness I live in NC.

Mass passes a "Saturday Night Special" ban and what company gets screwed by it the most?

Freedom Arms, the maker of the finest single action revolvers.

Erik, no joke. Freedom Arms hasn't been able to sell guns in MA for some time, because of the light trigger. See, that makes them inherently unsafe, therefore they're cheap SNSes, although their prices *start* at $1500.

MA residents, are there any handguns at all that meet AG Reilly's requirements?

Is it single action per se or could Freedom, Ruger, Uberti etc., put in Masshysteria trigger springs weighing like twenty pounds that could later be replaced?

Ahh, but if you altered the trigger then had to shoot someone, would you be seen as someone "just waiting to kill?"

The only unsafe thing in Mass. is their AG. If he had a brain, he'd be dangerous to himself. As it is, he's a danger to everyone else.

The only revolvers that are legally "safe" in Massachussets are S&W hamerless models and perhaps some Tuarus hammerless models.

Actually the Freedom Arms guns have not passed the drop test that was implimented a while back, as FA did not want to deal with the cost, see link.

Unfortunatly I also live in Mass, fortunatly I bought most things I want before the ban, thankfully.

Personaly I'm sick of this $#!^ and this state. When they come for my guns I'm off to Vermont.

P.S. I'm a GOAL and NRA member.

Hardball, that's not correct. All the S&W revolvers are now legal in MA, and most of their semi-auto pistols are (or shortly will be) legal in MA.

You can see the S&W statement regarding the legality of their guns at:
http://www.smith-wesson.com/dealers/index.html

Regarding the legality of single-action revolvers, first they would have to pass the drop test. Second, they would have to have the serial number stamped in a second super secret place. I suspect that the Ruger single actions will pass the drop test, but that the Colt SAA and clones will not.

The reason Freedom Arms cannot sell in Mass is because they can't afford to effectivly scrap 5 of each model they make for drop testing since their revolvers sell for about $1500.

I think we need to drop test some of the legislators in Mass.

What is scary is that after they ban all the dangerous weapons these states are going to find that there are still men more dangerous to the predators ( however armed the predators )than the predators are to their ill chosen victims.

So what happens when these states learn that there are no ( OK, well darned few decently made ) dangerous weapons, just dangerous men and women? And that such people aren't dangerous until illegally accosted? Take away their guns and they'll respond to a home invasion with a battleaxe or boar spear or broadhead as likely or even more so than a pistol to remove the felons's from this world's justice system?
