Single action // Double action

I was reading a thread the other day about the difference and it seemed that there was confusion if the Glock got included.

Soooooo....over the weekend (when I should have been concentrating on trapshooting) I was thinking about a definition and came up with one to throw out for discussion.

1. Single action: The trigger pull allows the mechanism to fire the cartridge.

2: Double action: The trigger pull
a: prepares the mechanism to fire
and
b: allows the mechanism to fire the cartridge.

That way all one has to consider is what the trigger does. It doesn't matter what previous preparation was done to the mechanism.

Sound ok?

Thanks Coinneach for inst on editing msgs.

Lavan, that came from your use of a : followed by a p (in prepared). If you edit the post to put a space in there, it won't look like you're razzing us.
