Single 10 cylinder-binding makes me a sad panda

so I went to the gunstore today to buy a sp101. I came out with a single 10, which I had been waiting for, but they just got it in. I buy a box of elcheapo remingtons and load it up.

It binds. Not just a little. Bad. I just fired off an email to Ruger CS, but it makes me cry a little inside.

It's not the B/C gap...the cylinder seems to be inordinately friendly (creepy even) with the frame near the firing pin. When I spin the cylinder through the drag (when I can, sometimes its genuine drop the cylinder binding) the brass is obviously rubbing on the frame. I never thought I'd cry about a tight gun, but yeah. Too tight. Ruger is awesome to deal with, but I want my single 10 and I want it now.

Ruger, why must you tease me so?

Did you try a different brand of ammo? Cheaper .22lr ammo seems to have higher incidences of QC than about any other factory ammo. Perhaps the ammo you got is out of spec with rims that are just a hair too thick or, for some reason, the cartridges aren't going all the way into the chambers. No more expensive than .22lr ammo is, it would probably be worth trying a different brand before going to the trouble to send your gun back.
