Sinclair bullet seating depth tool

Like a lot of measuring tools, it depends on your personal touch with it. Handled well, it should get within a thousandth of an inch or two. However, if you take a bullet comparator and measure a box full of bullets from their base to the place the comparator stops on the ogive, you'll find they vary more than that. I measured a bunch of .308" Sierra MatchKings that way one time and got a spread of 0.008" from shortest to longest. This is mainly the result of mixing bullets that come off different tool sets. The bottom line, though, is even though your measurements may be off 0.002", your bullets will vary enough more that it doesn't matter.
