Can someone who owns a Simply Rugged Silver Dollar Pancake Holster please tell me if it comes with 3 slots to allow strong side carry and cross-draw carry or does it come with just 2 slots to allow strong side carry only? Or is this optional? Can you get it either way? BTW, how do you like this holster? I'm thinking about ordering this holster for my SP101 2.25" and the Simply Rugged Real Man's Belt.

Just wondering. Thanks a lot fellas,

You will not be sorry if you order one from Simply Rugged. I have one for a 3" SP101. Awsome both IWB and OWB. I've worn it strong side and crossdraw.

I ordered mine with three slots, and the inside out straps. I did not get a retention strap, but should have.

Highly Recommended!!!

I just ordered one from them for my Alaskan. It has the three slots. I should have it this week and I will let you know how i like it.

Why do is need retention strap? It looks like it fits deep in the holster.

Silver Dollar for 3" S&W 3' Mod 60. Three belt slots - count 'em!;)

"I" should have gotten the retention strap because I use this setup to carry while i ride my dirt bike. I get bounced around and sometimes thrown off the bike.

I have had ZERO problems with the holster holding the weapon, no matter what activity I was doing at the time.

Highly recommended!!

Here ya go

You wont find a more simple, comfortable, reliable holster; they're simply rugged!

And there are not any nicer people to deal with, was told to expect a 5-8 week wait when I ordered, and it was on my belt in less then 3 1/2 weeks. . . OUTSTANDING:D

Simply Rugged - Cheap Product TERRIBLE Service

I bought a simply rugged silver dollar pancake for my SP101. It looked like a child had slapped it together. Fit and finish stunk. I contacted Rob Leahy with pictures. He agreed to a full refund. I sent it back and he took out a restocking fee claiming I'd scratched it. Total BS! I opened it, test fit the gun, took pictures, and boxed it up to send back. Terrible quality, terrible service. Seriously, there are so many good builders out there don't waste your time on this guys junk. I should have listened to the other reviews I've read about his horrible customer service. It's a shame too. I really liked his design.

Huh. First bad review of Simply Rugged I've seen. (But at least it seems we share the same taste in guitars - I have a 714 [no c, no e] from '98).

I carry my 642 in one of Rob's Silver Dollar Pancakes and think it's just about perfect - beautifully made and very comfortable.

I am happy with mine for my S&W 686. It has the three slots plus the retention strap. I would not want the extra ammo loop on the holster, but I do have the separate speed loader holder. I have another holster of theirs for my 1911, a belt, and a magazine holder. All the products of theirs I own reflect quality and value for the money.

Happy with mine for my .44Spec CA Bulldog for in town CC carry. Also got a 120 for my walking around the hills/camp/fishing/hunting holster.

Been thinking about what holster to get for my SP101. Saw this and just ordered one. I hope I like it as much as you guys do(well most of you anyway).

I've got 6 Simply Rugged holsters, and about to order a 7th.

Rob is porbably one of the best people I've ever done business with.

I'd say the retention is pretty good. No real need for a retention strap.

I have one of these from Simply Rugged for my SP101 3". I bought the 3 slot with the inside out straps and love it. No need for the retention strap in my experience; mine holds quite securely.

The only problem I have had is when I got the holster, the first time or two I wore it, some dye bled onto my clothes. I contacted Rob via email who said some leather may bleed a bit, and to rub some shoe polish on it. I did, and haven't had any problems since.

I also have bought a dump pouch and AR mag holder in the past; both have been excellent.

I always keep them in mind when considering a new holster for new guns and such.

I have a half dozen Simply Rugged holsters and have been very happy with all of them. Ive found Rob to be very responsive, typically I'll email him a question about an item and he'll answer within a few hours of the same day. I have the Silver Dollar Pancake holster which is used with an older Charter Arms Bulldog and its excellent, just the right size for that gun. I also have several of the Sour Dough holsters which are larger. Since they are of the pancake style, they can be a bit bulky IMO when holstering a good sized revolver. But I find that true with all pancake holsters.
I have one of their 120 holsters on order, which is of the Tom Threeperson based design and a Cattleman also on order, which is more of a Western type design. These are field type holsters that are less bulky than the pancake type.
