silly question: how come no .22lr/.22winmag rilfes?

Seems to me that if you can shoot .38spcl or .357mag through a single handgun, that you should be able to rig up a rifle to shoot both .22lr and .22win mag. (I'm assuming that .22winmag is a straight walled cartridge with brass the same diameter as .22lr, but I've never had the opportunity to check for myself). What prevents manufacturers from offering such a gun? You could plink with cheapo .22lr and get out the .22mag if a job required it.

ruger still makes their single-six with both .22lr and .22mag cylinders
but be aware...the bullets of the lr and mag have different diameters

NEF makes a rifle that is LR and with the turn of ONE screw, you can install a WMR barrel.

As far as a single barrel for both, no worky. LR is a different diamter than WMR. Not by much, but it is different.

That's the problem. The cases are not the same. Not even close. Therefore the chambers are different. Revolver "convertibles" change out the "chamber" when the cylinder is changed out.
