SigPro 2340 opinions

I just bought a used SigPro 2340, but I can't pick it up for 10 days. The deal was just too good to pass up. Unfortunately, I know next to nothing about Sigs. It has the box, 2 grips, 2 mags, and night sights. . .Can I get ya'll opinion on this gun? Like I say, I know nothing about Sigs and honestly had no intention of buying one till this one came along. . .Appreciate any input ya'll have. . .

I have a 2009 (the 9mm SiGPro) and just traded my 2340. The SiGpro has been great. I like them as much as any of my SiG Classics. The only reason that I traded away the 2340 was that I couldn't find a place for either 40S&W or 357SiG in my lineup.

You get some people who dog on the SIGPro's but by and large the vast majority of Pro owners absolutely love them. Many of them even prefer them to their Classic model SIGs. The trigger on the Pro is a work of art -- smooth as glass and at 9lbs DA and 4.5lbs SA, light. Ergonomics are excellent, reliability is top notch, and accuracy is excellent. The gun is a bit big for only holding 10 rounds, but if the mag ban sunsets in 2004, the point is moot.

Bottom line, enjoy your SIGPro to the fullest. They are great guns at a great price. :)

I owned a SigPro for some time and I LOVED IT! It was a great weapon. The DA I found a bit stout, but the SA was great. I only ever had one malfuntion out of it. One Jam. And that was the last round in the mag. I got rid of it however because it no longer made sense in my collection. I think if a "duty" type weapon is what you want then you will be very happy with the 2340.
Be safe.

I got a 2340 in .357 several months ago. My son bought one at the same time. Neither of us has had a malfunction of any kind (well, his had a couple that were ammo related). We just put another hundred rounds thru each of them today, and smiled all the way home as usual.

I highly recommend the sigpro. It was very cleverly engineered. It does suck not being able find full capacity mags for the 2009, but despite that it's great. It's been 100% reliable with 124 grn. GD +P. It would be interesting to know why Sig went with the internal extractor on the sigpro instead of external like most semi's.

They're great guns for people who like Sigs, but aren't sure if they want to commit to the price of the classic line. They make an excellent first Sig. I have the 9mm version. It feels great and is very accurate. Alot of people don't really like them because they are very blocky (esp for a 9mm). Also, there are purists who think that polymer-framed Sigs are blasphemy (sounds vaguely reminiscent of when another polymer handgun first appeared about 20 years ago). The SigPros aren't quite as easy to take down as the classics, but if you can take down a 1911, the SigPro is a cinch. Shoot the crap out of it, I'm certain it can take it. If you decide you like it, move up to a classic Sig. I did it backwards (I got: 229 - 9mm, 229 - .40, and a 239 - 9mm all before I got my SigPro). I think I'll get a 2340 sometime soon.

how's the finish?

classic SIGs have a finish that easily scratches and these very handsome pistols often end up looking fully their age.

I think it would be great to have a SIG pro with something like glock's tenifer finish. of course SIG pros haven't been around too long but does anyone have some indications about the SIG Pros finish durability?
