Sights on 32 Guardian

I'm getting real close to sending my Guardian off to NAA to have Ashley Express standard dot sights installed. Aside from the concern that after the first custom modification, I'll have to put some more $$'s into it via Hogue hardwood grips, I'm worried it might fit a little too tight in holsters made for the factory gun.

Does anyone have these? Any words of advice?

NAA also offers a "gutter snipe" sight that would not increase the guns size envelope, but they don't look like they would be acquired much quicker than the standard factory "sights."

Of course, it's your choice ... but I don't see the point in putting expensive sights on a Guardian. Frankly, I don't see the point in ANY sights on a Guardian. I had the puny stock sights ground off by Scott, MacDougal http://www.colt380.com/. Now, it's less likely to snag and is just as effective as a close range backup -- which is the only viable use for this type of pistol IMHO.

I have the Ashley sights on my Guardian but didn't really need them. Just wanted to completely customize from top to bottom. Guess I had more cash than senses. I have never seen the gutter snipe, so can't comment on that.

If you have custom holsters like Hedley's the Ashley sights will not fit unless you get a new holster with a sight track.

I'll attach a photo of mine so you can get some idea what it will look like.

Waltherpfive is right.

I use Hedley holsters. The sights you mention would not fit a custom holster like my Headleys, without a "sight track". However, The nice Hogue grips work fine. (At least on mine.) The "palm swells" seem to make the Guardian a little easier to grasp. I chose the smooth Pau Ferro wood grips. They are beautiful! As a side note: NAA now makes "anti-shoot loose" grip screws with these little rubber "O" rings and they work very well.

Don't do it !!!

Unless you're rich!

The only thing to do with that piece it melt it.
Or if you want to spend more dough, look into some cool custom holsters.

I know all that scalloping, and sniping stuff looks cooler then cool,
but unless you're rolling in dough, you'll regret it...and soon.
Think it through.

I leen to what Old Reb says, grind them off. I carry one in case my primary in no longer an option, or have to go where the primary can not. If you are shooting at something where you need the sights on one of these little things, you are too far away IMHO.

Here's what I think the sights on the NAA Guardian should look like... missing! This is my Guardian after the SM&A pocket treatment, the sights are history. If I can't hit it without sights, I shouldn't be shooting it with this gun!

Thanks for saving me $100!

Thanks everyone. There's nothing like unanimous sentiment to make me see the light. Makes sense: if the shot is far enough to need custom sights, I'm using the wrong tool to begin with. Maybe a set of those wood grips and a Dremel application are in the cards though ;-)

Walther P5-beautiful close up of the grips. Definitely high on cool factor! Thanks for your frank first hand experience feedback.
