sight rails for mosin-nagant's

so looking around at getting a scope mounted so i can go elk hunting with my uncle. i bought the m44 and he said it would have more than enough power to take one down, but seeing one clearly at 100+ yards with iron sights might prove to be difficult. so has anyone ever installed the sight rails you can buy on ebay or other gun shops? if so are they reliable/ worth the money?

I just bought a mosin nagant scope mount system with bolt handle my M44 made by ATI from this website called combathunting.com. I'm currently in Afghanistan right now but am coming home in a few weeks and I'm going to fix it up. I'll post back when its completed and let you know how it works.
