Sight pusher for M&P recommendations?

The thread "Best night Sights for XD?" reminded me that I can't get the sights off of my S&W M&P full size or my M&P compact. I'd like to switch the factory sights to night sights. Could someone please recommend a reasonable sight pusher for the M&P line, and where to order it? Thanks.

Not sure what the definition of reasonable is. A very good dedicated model (the M&P model actually works on Glocks too) is the MGW:

Brownells is out of stock but you can find them elsewhere too.

There is also the Universal Sight Pusher for the more budget conscious.

These can be found elsewhere too.

The reason I like the MGW model better is it does a much better job at holding the pistol steady making the sight install a lot easier. It also has finer threads than the Universal model making it easier to make small adjustments. It's just a much better built product (I actually killed the threads on the Universal model over time and you have to tape the sides of the slide or the aluminum blocks will mark them up). But on the downside model specific pushers, because they rely on a set slide height and set slide width for the rails, are limited in their usage if you plan to sell the pistol or have a lot of brands. Sort of a master vs. jack of all trades situation.

MGW also makes a universal model where you swap out the shoes, but it's pretty expensive. If you do a lot of pistol work on various models or you're a gunsmith it probably would be worth it in the end.

Check out the youtube videos on "home made sight pushers" for a lot of tricks and easy to make pushers to remove stubborn sights.

Thank you gw and TR. The youtube videos were interesting! I'll probably go with the MGW model if I can find it, or wait for Brownells to get it back in stock.
