SigArms .45 M2 - feel the love....

I think I got a wiff of why you .45 shooters like shooting .45s.

Picked up a SigArms M2 in .45 today at a little local gun show and hastened down to the range at once...

150 rounds later I am a believer. I love the way this thing shoots, and its really quite accurate, much to my surprize.

Anybody else got one of these? What are your experiences? I'm pretty happy so far and it cost me several hundred less than the Glock 36 I went to the show to find.

Seems to lack a cylinder; moved to "Semiauto Forum".

Isn't a revolving barrel close enough?

The only thing I didn't like about the Mauser is the position of the safety. That really wouldn't keep me from getting this gun.

wow. weird.

I was in the semi-auto forum when i posted!

Anyway, its a dandy firearm... regardless of where I posted.

sorta confusing

Can anybody answer this riddle?

Does Sig = Sig Sauer = Sigarms = Mauser = Hammerli?

This M2 is a very good buy; seems like several hundred bucks below other .45acp's, and I still like it, having shot it a bunch again today... But who the heck really makes it?

I could explain this myself, but I'll make it easier (and a lot more accurate :)) if I paste a link to the history of SIGARMS on their website.

Good reading!

About the Mauser, I believe SIG bought them (or the rights to the name) and imports them to the US via SIGARMS. I remember reading about this but I forgot the exact details...

I have an M2 in .45 cal. I love the thing. 710 rounds with no failures at all. My friend shot it the other day and swore it was a 9mm. Great gun at a great price. All I need now is a few extra mags...

thanks walther

The sigarms web site says:

"The Mauser M2 handgun is built in the Sauer plant in Germany"

So it is, in essence, a sig sauer. Good!

Thanks for the info.
