Hi all, thanks to those who responded to my request for info on the trailside and their experiences.
I looked at a Trailside and decided it was not for me, the slide on these is cast and not very neatly, its visible around the uneven cocking serrations. After my second look my impression is that the qualityis not what we come to expect from SIG. The Clerk reminded me of the important fact that these are made by Hammerelli (sp) who normally also makes a 2000+ gun only.
The store had a 7" buckmark bullseye with the target grip and adjustible trigger for less than the 4" target trailside. I really liked the feel of this gun and the trigger.
So I rented the plainjane buckmark 5.5 and put 200 rounds through it. The ranges gun was filthy and it still functioned flawlessly. It seems that the trigger on even the standard model is much better than that of my rugers.
The accuracy of the buckmark is as good or better than my rugers It shot it as well or better the first time!!!. The adjustible sight is of very high quality.
The bullseye at $425 seems like a very nice gun and a cut above my rugers.
I am also considering a S&W 41
