Sig SP2022: Purged and Returned (with a new friend in tow)

Several months ago I initiated a purge of many of my DA/SA pistols. While it was good to thin the herd and funds from a few of those sales went to my purhcase of a Dan Wesson PM-9 (which is an amazingly precise handgun), I regretted a couple of those. One of those purged was my Sig SP2022.

Fast forward a few months and I purchased another SP2022 for $50 total more than what I sold my old one for. Same exact specs, although the new one has a stainless slide (my old one was finished in black). The new one was suppossed to be a FDE frame w/ black slide, but arrived as pictured (which I actually preferred so I didn't make a stink, but did inform the seller to make them aware). Oh, and an excellent condition used FN FNP-9 found its way into my stable as well.

I do enjoy the striker fired guns, but there's also something about the hammer fired pistols that strikes my fancy. While I like the simplicity of XDs and the PPQ, I still have my Beretta 92fs, a Walther P1, Browning Hi Power, and four 1911s as well to keep the hammer fired crew represented. I expect to keep the FN as long as it's a good performer, and I will not make the same mistake twice by selling off another SP2022.

Yeah, very true. When you look at those two together it could be hard for someone to understand why I would need two 4" polymer framed DA/SA 9mm pistols with black frames and sliver slides. Unless you're a gun owner... then the reasoning likely needs no explanation. :)

I'm narrowing down my 9mm collection, selling off all but one of my full sized models, but don't worry, the longslides are on their way next.

I looked at a P320 but went with an XD Mod.2 5" instead. The trigger on the P320 I saw didn't do anything for me.

Who knows though. Once the military version is available for sale I might pick one up just for the fun of it.

I hear you on the P2022. Traded mine during a flurry of activity, then later got a case of the why-did-I-do-that's. How does the P2022 compare to that FN?

OP, congrats on coming to your senses. :p I am the happy owner of a 9mm 2022 and it's older cousin the 2340. They are spectacular, underrated pistols.

I have a moment of clarity once in awhile, thanks!

I used to shoot my other SP2022 better than a P226, so hoping this one delivers the same results. The FNP just seemed like one of those under-rated sleeper pistols, which I am attracted to.
