SIG SAUER P239 - Your thoughts please.

I am thinking of purchasing a Sig Sauer P239 in .357 Sig for concealed carry. I would like some opinions from the Sig gang. It is bit lighter and thinner than the P226 and P229 and I think it would be a bit easier to carry. Is the P239 a good choice?

I previously voted on this one with my wallet. I own and shhot the 239 9mm and . 357 SIG. It's a great gun in both calibers. I got mine with night sights and Hogue grips. Only drawback is the tendency to wear very little down here in Florida. Does the 239 work for CCW? Yes. Is it a better choice than the .32? Yes. But practically, I find my self frequently defaulting to the Kel-Tec 32 for CCW. Regards, Dennis

Cant think of a better tool for the job. One of the few I would bet my life on. Good choice!

I don't care for mine. It does not feel as well balanced as my P220 and my P226. The fit of slide to frame is not as good as my German SIGs. I will probably trade it in for a Browning Hi-Power or a P225 if I can find one.

Mine's in .40, and I look for the "ultimate" carry gun no more. It rides so comfortably, I still panick sometimes thinking that I might have lost it.

Bought a P239 in 9mm almost as soon as it hit the shelves. Turned out it was some of the best money I've ever spent. I carry it every day, and shoot it at every IDPA match I go to (which is fun, because hardly anyone else shoots a P239 at matches so I get to stand out from the crowd of Glocks and 1911's). I liked it so much, I'm in the process of buying a second one in 9mm.

Have a nice day.

I've got one in 9mm and I like it a lot. Its been a typical SIG. accurate, reliable, easy to maintain, eats everything, has never jammed or misfed. I carry it in a Galco Jackass shoulder rig and it's very comfortable. With aobut 800 rnds thru, the trigger is like butter. It is a tad top heavy vs. my 228, but all in all, its a greaat little gun. No doubt about it the 239 is not as nice to handle as a 228. I own both, but the 228 is limited to 9mm and is more difficult to hide than 239. My 239 is in 40S&W...a caliber that I hold in high regard for hard-hitting
power. I load it withFederal Hydra-shocks.

I just shot my 239 9mm with 10 round magazines in another IDPA match today. Gosh, I sure love how that gun conceals, draws, points and shoots! Regards, Dennis

I picked the P239 in .357, as well. This is a sweet, sweet weapon. The trigger action is as smooth as butter. Accurate, light, small. You won't go wrong. Add the Hogues to top off the package.
