SIG Sauer 226 .40, DAO??

Thanks guys, I appreciate it.

This is a stupid question, because the gun is a Sig, but how do you like the DAO?? I will purchase one as my next gun if I can get DAO. That would be the ticket for IDPA, since I love Sigs. I am trying to love Glocks, but I just can't.:(

Sig DAO

I had a 228 in DAO. I tried really hard to like it. I mean really, really hard. I got it for a steal when ebay was still doing firearms. It felt wonderful in my hand but I couldn't shoot it for crap. I traded it for a USP FS 9mm. I shot that well, but it didn't feel all that great.

Guess what I just got over the weekend??? A new 228 DA/SA. We'll see how it goes!!!!

Bullitt: The DA pull on my 226 is very good, so I don't mind the fact that it is DAO. However, my other SIGs are all DA/SA. The only reason I bought this one in DAO is because I got an incredible deal ont it. It was a SIG rep's display model that he schlepped to dealers and shows. There were only a couple of slight scratches to the finish, that's all.

BTW: I got it for under $500.

Take care. Marko

Birch,

I have a P228 DA/SA and I love it. Its my favorite pisol ever. The SA trigger on mine is incredible, but the DA is heavy that's why I was wondering what the DA on the 226 .40 was like.

HS2000,

Wow! what a great deal! What is the weight on the trigger? How would you compare it to the SA/DA Sigs or even other DAO guns like Glocks? Thanks!

Bullitt: I couldn't tell you the exact pull on my P226, but I can tell you that it's definitely lighter than the DA pull on my P229, which I think has a great trigger (though the 226's pull does seem a shade longer). In any event, for a DAO trigger it's quite good, with a consistently even pull --- no stacking.

Take care. Marko

Fantastic, I think I'm going to have to see if I can't find one. If it shoots like my P228 it will be perfect. Thanks for all the info, I appreciate it.:)
