SIG roll pin installation

I have a police trade in P228 that I recently detail stripped, cleaned up, replaced the springs and installed an SRT trigger and during the course of that I messed the roll pin up while installing it in the sheet metal slide. Lesson learned I ordered some roll pin punches to install it correctly.

Which brings me to my question. What is the order for installing the double roll pins into the slide?

I was thinking that you put in the outer roll pin in the slide/breech block from left to right then installed the inner roll pin with the open seam facing 180 degrees from the other roll pin.

Is that correct? Or am I going to mess up my inner roll pin or just doing it the hard way?

I don't know if you'll mess up the inner pin doing it that way, but we were taught to start the outter pin maybe 1/8", then start on the inner pin (180 degrees off), and then tap them both home. In doing it this way, they will support each other and be less likely to bend on you.
