Sig question

Just curious folks...Is the 220 in 38 super the same gun as 220 in 45? In particular the slide. is there a difference in the front hole that the barrel rides on? I was wondering this since I want to buy the 38 super barrel for it and rechamber it for 9x23 winmag. Will this 38 barrel's Outside Diameter be the same as the 45 barrel? I don't have one to check but really getting the itch to do this conversion.

The breech face, extractor and ejector locations would all be totally different. Even assuming that the barrel would be a drop in--and I'm not sure it would--you would still not have a workable conversion.

Why not just go to the .357 SIG ctg?

Robert: I kinda thought so. I was just hoping since my 229 goes down to 9mm...i thought maybe the 38 super could fly from a 220 45 slide. I LOVE the 357sig. It's most fun for me. I didn't like the .40 much in that pistol. Some days I was on it and others I was all over the place. The sig round never did that to me. Like beam it was a straigh flier for me. I converted to 9mm too to shoot cheap stuff. Now my 220 is in need of a metamorph so I thought I'd give it a try. But I think that I would need a 38 super slide to start to even think about 9x23. Maybe just get the whole pistol...nah...too many already, a slide would really throw the wife off...It just parts honey...
