Sig Pro 9mm Law Enforcement

After reading the archives a bit, I see people either hate or love the Sig Pros. A lot of complaints about grip size. Since I a revolver guy, and shoot only N frames, the grip size feels great to me. My question is the models I've seen at a local dealer. Most of the Sig Pros I see are in the regular black case. The ones in question were the Sig Pro 9MM, that are in a larger sized bright colored blue case, with law enforcement written on it. There is 3 mags in the case with it. The gun also has what seems to be more insignias, and or etching on it, than the regular Sig pros I've seen. There is also a white silk screened(or some method)emblem on top of the slide. Is this something special, or a rare version. I just happened to see a few of these at a Dealer, and seemed different then the others elaswhere.

Interesting. I purchased a Blue Line 2009 with the 3 mags but they were 10 rounders. It appears to be set up for +P ammo as standard velocity ammo barely trickles out of the ejection port. Corbon 115 and Gold Dot 124 +P's function just fine and eject about 3 or 4 feet away. I really like the gun. Wish I had gotten "hi caps", but 3 mags is probably more than enough. The trigger pull is pretty smooth in the double action and the single action isn't bad. I agree about the grip. It fits my hand just fine.

weldonjr,

This one also has 3 10 rounders. Seemed like a good deal with the 3 mags. Does yours also have the extra makings I was talking about ?? I believe these were extras a distrbutor had, changed the mags, and sold some.

Mine has a crest on top of the slide in back of the ejection port that is gold in color and consists of the word SIG enclosed in an oval and that surrounded by 2 "leaved branches" of some type. Looking from the barrel end of the pistol the word "BLUELINE" (also gold) is printed, embossed, etched, etc. directly below the crest. Is this how yours appears?

Weldonjr,

Yes that pretty much describes the ones I've looked, thanks for the info. What do you think of it's performance ??

Wayne,

I like it well enough that I will probably acquire a 2340 someday. I have 3 .40s already but I really like that caliber. I had a P239 and got rid of it because I didn't like the trigger action, but this gun has a nicer double action. What do you shoot in yours? Does it seem to have the extra power recoil spring? With the present spring I have to shoot +p ammo. I've been using the Speer Gold Dot 124 +p's and they shoot great. I've also fired some Corbon 115 +p's and they're ok too. I'd probably use +p anyway for the real deal, but I'm going to go to Wolff's website and see if they have any recoil springs available for it, so I can shoot standard pressure plinking ammo for more economic practice.

PS I just checked Wolff's site and they only seem to have springs for the Classic series. Guess I'll check with SIG.

Wayne,

Sorry, I reread your first post and see you've only been looking at them. Disregard my questions about how "yours" shoots. Anyway, it is nice, and I feel it still has that Sig aura of quality, even though the Classic guys are kind of down on it. I doubt my frame will ever crack, and I truly believe the trigger action is superior to the Classics I've handled.
