Sig P250C 9mm

I picked up a used Gen II Sig P250c in 9mm. Was at a great price, so I thought I would give it a try. I have heard mixed comments about it.

Took to the range yesterday with 250 rounds of mixed ammo, FMJ and HP. Best shooting was with 115gr FMJ Herter's Nyclad, with groups averaging about 2 1/2 inches at 25meters. Worse was 115gr Winchester Silvertip at 5 inches at 25meters. No hiccups or issues, overall I was very happy with. Trigger was running 5 1/2 lbs on the gauge and very smooth thru the pull.

Will need to pick up some 124gr and 147gr for the next range trip. This is a keeper.

I like mine, very accurate. Most don't like the long DAO trigger but I'm a revolver guy so its perfect for me.

I don't shoot mine enough, not as much as my revolvers or my EDC's, a LCP or my LCR, but it lays beside my pillow every night and it protects my family.

Enjoy it!

I have both the compact and sub-compact in 9mm and the full size in 45ACP. They have never failed me yet.

I have another 9mm compact kit without the Fire Control Unit. Glad to hear about another happy P250 owner.

Congratulations! I have a 9mm Gen 2 Subcompact and also a compact small frame waiting for me to pick up, and a 9mm Gen 2 Compact presently on layaway. Love how the trigger feels between dry firing and shooting them at rental ranges, and I have a feeling that the compact may dethrone my other DAO's for the #1 spot in my EDC (CZ 100 and PX4 D).

I cc a 250sc, after 2K+ range rounds, I have had no burps. Only problem was finding a leather iwb carry rig for it. Trigger on mine was good from the start.

I had one when they first came out. I always liked it, but it wasnt very well accepted at the time.

As was mentioned, the longish, DAO trigger was not a big hit. I always found it to be a very nice trigger. Buttery smooth and very much like a nice S&W revolver.

I always thought they had the best feeling grip of any of my SIG's too. That lack of grip panels makes a big difference.

About the only thing you need watch, was the typical "SIG control issue", especially shooting with a thumbs forward grip. Having ambi controls, just let the lefties join in the fun. :)

I have a P250c in 40sw. Love that pistol and my main carry. I trust it and trigger just right, smooth and long enough for safe carry.

I have the compact version in 9mm. I don't want to bash the gun but I frankly could not seem to like the looooooong trigger pull. I had read about it before I bought it but you don't know how you will like it until you actually have some range sessions. Never had any other problems with it, but it tends to sit in my safe while I take my Berretta 92S to the range most of the time. The Berretta is also my night stand choice. I don't conceal and carry so the sizes didn't matter much to me.

I have a P250c 9mm and it is a great pistol, easy to carry. I like the long trigger pull and it is as smooth as glass.

If you like the ergos of the P250s don't forget to check out the P320 too if the trigger on the P250 wasn't to your liking.

Yup exactly. Hence it stands to reason if you like one, you'll probably like the other

I am in the other camp. Not a fan of the 250 and wish that they had used a different updated frame for the P320.

I had an early 250 and that experience soured me on the P250. In fact that was the last time I bought a new Sig.

I was referring to the ergonomics, not the firing mechanism.

Not a huge fan of the ergos either. Don't like the fact you have to change the frame to change the grip. It today's polymer world not having removable backstraps to change the grips is criminal. If they were selling the frames at a reasonable price it would be OK but Sig just upped the price of the frames for the P250/P320. The feel of the frame in the hand is OK. Not as nice as the HK VP9 or the PPQ IMHO. Does not come even close to the new Sphinx. It is just avg. It is not horrible but nothing spectacular.

High ride grips still causes slide to lock back. They are at least attempting to correct that with a new slide lock which will ship on new pistols but will cost you for existing ones.

Not a bad design but I think that they could have and should have improved on what they had in the P250 when they brought out the P320. Instead Sig when cheap and chose economy of scale vs innovation which is their MO these days. That said I am still considering a P320.

It doesn't happen for me is all I said. I can't speak for others. I will say the four students that borrowed a P320 in the most recent SIG Academy course I took did not seem to have any issues with the slide not behaving as desired nor did the two students in the course before that. The instructor did not have issues either but of course I expect him to have changed his grip for the pistol if need be. Not a large sample to be sure but I am just reiterating that I haven't seen the issue firsthand.

Right... I was just pointing out that there are reasons not to like the ergos of the P250/P320. Ergos are so subjective. What appeals to one person does not appeal to others.

Liking or not liking ergos on any pistols is very subjective. All I've done so far is share my opinion. If you dislike/aren't crazy about the ergos that's your call.
