I'm looking at a Sig P239 SAS, I realize every gun has lovers and haters, I'm just hoping for a few real life stories, should I get it, or would you suggest I stay away. Primary use will be for EDC to give my P226 a rest.
Thanks for the input.

The 239's are excellent guns, you would be hard pressed to find a negative review on one. While they are a little large for their capacity, they are absolute tack drivers and a joy to shoot. I would carry one in a heartbeat. Also if you are used to your 226, and like the 226, the 239 will have the same manual of arms.

Thanks Dragline, yes the 226 is a beautiful example of Sig perfection. I know the 239 is a bit large, but stepping down from the 226 it will be a little lighter, and right on about the manual of arms, nothing new to learn.
Thanks again for your response.

I carried one for years but retired it about a year ago. It's a well made, reliable and a joy to shoot. It's heavy and has pretty limited capacity for its size. However, like any other gun, with a good belt and holster it's no problem. I carried mine in a Galco summer special or a comptac paddle holster. I say go for it.

I've carried a P239 for many years. Originally in .40, I got a Barsto 357 SIG barrel and mags for it.

Mine is DAK. I have to carry a Glock at work, so, I intentionally stayed with a no de cock no safety trigger system. But, that's just for me. The DA SA is fine too if that's what you are used to.

Off duty I carry appendix. (I wont carry a glock appendix) For me, the P239 rides perfect. I've tried a lot of other guns but always come back to the P239.
If you look at the stats, a P229 is just a tiny bit bigger, but carrying it the way I do, it's radically different.

The P239 is exactly just big enough to shoot like a full sized gun and just exactly small enough to carry comfortably.

First time I held a 239 it was like Cinderella and the shoe or Goldilocks and the little bed or something of that nature. Angels sang and the light burst through the clouds and a single, poignant tear ran down my cheek. It may be a bit big when you compare it to other carry guns, but in the scheme of things it is really quite compact and holy crap is the thing comfortable... I love the 226 and 229, but I have relatively small hands and something about that rounded single stack grip really gets my engine revving.
