Sig P230 in .32ACP

I posted earlier a request for any info on the story of the recent availability of the Sig P230 in 7.65 (.32ACP) with a manual safety and lanyard attachment. This is not catalogued by Sigarms and not before available in this format, especially since now only the P232 is catalogued. Does anyone know whether these 7.65 Sigs are excess from the Japanese National Police order or from a cancelled European police order? I've heard both rumors.

Sorry, never heard a thing about it . . . that'd be a sweet shooter, though. How much are they advertised for?

At gunshows, I have seen them sell for as little as $350. Otherwise about $400 or so.
Very interesting and unusual configuration with slides date-coded "KH" which means 1997.

Absolutely NIB. These have just been imported. Probably a one time thing and quantity cannot have been very large. hat is truly unusual is that there have been no mentions in the Gun press. Usually we see stories and ads for new guns long before they ever become available. Not this time!

A Sig 230 in .32ACP? All I can say is "why?"

A Kahr MK9 in 9mm is smaller than a Sig 230 in .380. And a Kel-tec P32 or NAA Guardian are MUCH smaller in .32ACP.

If you're going to carry a gun as large as a 230, it might as well be a decent caliber, like the MK9. If you're going to carry .32ACP, it might as well be a real pocket gun, like the Guardian.

TO M1911:

Your question presumes the answer that you then proceed to give. All very valid and I agree with you.But your question is based on the presumption of carry for defensive purpose. Don't know about anyone else, but my interest in this particular Sig is due solely to what I expect will be its rarity and therefore, collectability. My carry preferences are Kahr P9, MK9, Sig2340 in .357Sig. KelTec P32 for backup.
