just bought a sig 229 would like to know if it was a good choice and what do u think about a lighter trigger than the 10lbs on it now

eggie, you made a great choice! I've had 229 for a few months now and shot roughly 900 rounds through it. The gun is very accurate, and if you look closely at its parts, you can tell the quality of manufacturing very easily. Enjoy!

eggie:

Good choice...I've three SIGs and one is a 229 in .40.

Lighter is not always better...the most important aspect of a DA trigger pull is SMOOTHNESS. You can, however, send the piece to SIGARMS and they will do an excellent action job for approx $75.00, IIRC.
This will result in a lighter AND smoother trigger pull for DA and SA.
