SIG P229 .40SW bbl in P229 Sport?

Question for 4V50 Gary and other SIG armorer or expert. Can you put a SIG facotry P229 40SW bbl in the P229 Sport? The P229 Sport is the .357 SIG variant but it has a long bbl with a compensator. Also the P229 Sport is made out of stainless steel. Thank you all in advance. :) :) :D
 
The 229 Sport also comes in .40 S&W, so you can order the compensated .40 S&W barrel for the .357 Sig gun. If not, the poster above said it right. It won't work since the slide is not dovetailed for a front sight.

I called sig about this and they said you can order the barrel from a sig dealer. They said it is unlikely that the sights will be the same for both due to the differences in bullet weights etc.

It was recomended just to order another comp and front sight and then file/replace (the front sight) as needed.

I decided that I did not want a 40"short and weak" that much in a SIG. I already had a couple of them as it is.
