Sig P228 Question?

I have a 9mm Sig. P228 that has been shot very few times. I noticed after taking apart for cleaning that the swing down take down lever has scuffed the finish on the alloy frame. It is not down to bare metal but you can see the light 1/2 moon type mark from the levers travel. I can not rub off the mark so I guess that the finish on the frame is fairly soft compared to the steel take down lever. It is only cosmetic but detracts from the look of this not cheap pistol. I was wondering is this just a common Sig. trait or is my lever too tight against the frame?
Thanks

Greetings Oldspeed, Relax!!! Take a few deep
breath's. This is common on most Sig-Sauer
"P" series pistols. I have four, and all are
that same way; and there is no need to worry,
if anyone use's their's it will have it also.

Same here. These scratches come with the territory. After living with them for a while, a SIG doesn't seem quite right without them.

It's natural. Think of it as signs of careful aging. Your SIG Sauer is showing signs of use.

So many pistols, so little money.

Oldspeed, you sound a bit like me. I am pretty picky, ok anal maybe, about trying to keep my guns in perfect shape. Everyone is right, there's no way to avoid the mark.

Hi Oldspeed-

You could always enter into a carefully-negotiated "Frequent Refinishing Program" with ROBAR, BearCoat, APW, Les Baer, etc., etc., etc.!

My SIG-Sauer P229 shares the same marks that you describe. Bear them proudly. :)
