sig p226 vs p229 40 cal

are there any significant differences between these two pistols outside of barrell length. which one is better suited to the .40 cal s&w. also what are their comparable accuracies. does the extra .6 inches help on the 226. thanks in advance for the replies
 
I prefer the Sig P226. I like the greater weight and sight radius as opposed to the Sig P229. Both are very fine firearms, but I prefer full sized pistols over compacts for most target shooting applications. For CCW, a compact is a better choice however.
