SIG P226 problem

One of my LEO bought a Sig P226 in .357Mag. Under close inspection nothing appears wrong with the pistol, but it shoots horribly. Neither my friend, me, or any of our friends can hit anything with this pistol. I'm talking 5" groups at seven yards. The pistol is getting sent to Sig for repair or replacement, but I would like to know if anyone has experienced similar problems.

First of all...the caliber is .357 Sig, not .357 Mag. Now that we have cleared that up, there is no excuse for a Sig shooting like that, regardless of caliber. Assuming the people who shot the gun are competent shooters, by all means send the gun back to Sig and demand that they fix it and pay for the shipping to boot. At seven yards, any decent pistol I have owned can put every bullet in the same, or closely overlapping, holes.

The only SIG Sauer pistols that I have ever had a problem with all have one thing in common...the slides were made in Exiter.:(

.357MAG

I want a sig chambered in .357mag. :)

Anyway. I am sure it will be fixed nicely and you (your friend) will not have any more problems with it.

MW740, please keep us posted on the results. Sounds like an out-of-spec barrel (or insert, or slide) that's not locking as intended.
