Finally bought a .45 ACP SIG P 220 a couple of months ago for $ 750. Made in 1986.

In Switzerland the 9mm is prevalent, so you don’t see many .45s

I still need a nice .22

And a .,38 Super. :D!

then you'll have the whole set!

I have a Browning BDA .45 (sig P220) that I bought in 1980. It has the heel magazine release. Yours has the pushbutton mag release and the slightly recontoured grip frame that was, in the US, referred to as the P220 "American" when it was originally released.

I don't remember exactly when that was, for some reason I was thinking it was in the 90s, but apparently not, since your gun was made in 86. Maybe yours is one of the early ones???

Nice score excellent price. My BDA is the best stock .45acp I've ever had, and its still 100% stock today. (there is some wear ;)). I'm a Colt Govt model/1911A1 guy, generally, but the BDA opened my eyes and in several ways, its a better gun than a standard Govt Model.

My .45 P220, which the seller thought may have been a Michigan LEO piece is from 2002 and is hybrid, German stamped slide and US frame (no proof marks).

The P220 is amazing. Accurate, reliable and beautifully engineered. I have a 227 and a 220 Carry. They are so good at so many things…

Very very nice! My P220 is one of my very favorite pistols, both to shoot and to just look at on days when the range beckons but is out of reach for whatever reason!

--Wag--

Got mine in '87 and carried it for years as a duty sidearm. Night of the King Riots I began carrying two extra spare magazines and got a four magazine pouch. That gave me 41 rounds.

Classic12- Nice Find, and Nice Collection!

I did the opposite. About 6 months ago or so I found/bought a Sig P220 in .38 Super, and then got a 9mm barrel for it.

Here, the P220 in 9mm or .38Super is harder to find- especially mags and other parts.

Not really a complaint, but when my extractor broke, Sig wanted me to send it to their custom shop for replacement. I told them I was trained by Sig as an armorer and could do it myself. Nope. I told them I was trained as a gunsmith at Trinidad. They still said nope. They wanted work for their custom shop. I finally found another supplier. Apart from followers (to convert the seven round magazines to eight rounds) and sights (night sights from Sig), that's about the only part I ever replaced.

And such nice wooden grips. :)

Something very similar would add appeal to my civilian P225 ( a 'real',
commercial P225, proofed in Kiel, Schleswig-Holstein), and CZ PCR.

Mine is an early one in 9x19. It was actually bought in Switzerland by the previous owner from whom I inherited it. The grips are nice.
