I really need advice. Can't make up my mind. I would really appreciate the pros and cons for each gun. With your help, I'll be a proud owner of another one. Thanks in advance.:confused

Own them both and, as you undoubtedly already know, they are both quality tools. If I had to settle for one or the other it would be the HK. IMHO it is far more versatile. As an aside the HK can safely shoot the 45 Super as it comes out of the box. Even if you are not predisposed to ever shoot the 45 Super I think it says something positive about the HK's strenth of construction.

It is a hard choice but, in any case, one between superlatives.

Both guns are superb; I own both. Each is amazingly accurate right out of the box.

What do you want the gun for? The Sig 220 is slim, fast, and much more comfortable to carry concealed, but it is limited to 8 rounds. The USP with 11 rounds is probably the finest tactical handgun ever made and much is more versatile in it's many variations.

What do you want; a Ferrari or a Land Rover?

Its amazing how many folks here come to this exact choice. Search the message base. They're both just awesome, you won't go wrong with either. I shot both, bought the HK. Strange thing: In the shop, the Sig felt much better in my hand, however the HK actually felt better to shoot for me, which was a surprise, since I had pretty much decided on the Sig before shooting them. I think its a combination of the wider grip distributing the recoil over more of my hand, and I think the recoil reduction system in the HK works very well. That, along with liking the control layout/versatility of the KH a bit more made the choice a little easier. The extra two rounds are nice as well. The fit & finish on the Sig are a little nicer, its pretty much a piece of jewelry in nickel. (Those Swiss, you know...), although I've heard there may be some finish durability issues with the dark finish versions. Supposedly HK customer service blows, but I've had an easy time with them on the phone with the various questions I've had (no problems with the gun whatsoever, its pretty much a brick s*%thouse...) The gun is more accurate than I am at this stage. The HK is a bigger gun, which you may or may not like. It looks more "menacing", to me, anyway, which I kinda like. Something you would definitely not want to be on the wrong end of. But I ramble...Nothing bad to say about either, just be shure to shoot 'em both before you buy & see what works better for your hand/eyes. Let us know what you decide & why.

I have a H.K and a sig if I had to let one go it would be the h.k I really dont know why there is just something about a sig . example ! I sold my 220 and purchased another class act. with in a week I was missing my sig...sort of like loseing your best girl friend. You know that sick feeling deep inside....

Thanks for the info. I guess the "proof is the pudding". Went to the range, I must say I was leaning toward the Sig after handling both at the gun store. Was a little leery about the HK when the gun salesman was having a little problem breaking it down. The lever was a little tight. I have Berettas and Glocks which are real simple to field strip. Since I always am cleaning my guns. the HK seemed to be a challenge. So I went to the range and shot both. The HK couldn't miss the bulls eye :D Also the range owner who knows me since I'm there once a week, let me field strip the HK. It was easy. I sure liked the HK "Expert", but a little more than I want to spend for my first 45. Sorry to ramble, but I always get excited when thinking of buying a new gun.

I have a Sig P220 and love it. The Sig replaced a 1911 as my carry gun. I fired and used my friends HK. Both guns are great, I like the feel and controls of the Sig. Both Shot better than I can hold.

Greeting's Poster's; Like so many of my post
in the past, this is a tough decision. Both
are quality weapons; however I would have
to give the nod to the Sig P220A, as my personal favorite. I own and shoot both;
the 220 and the full size USP in .45. I guess
it's a matter of personal preference? I have
bet my life on a 220 since 1988; and she hasn't let me down yet!!! :D
