Sig P220 or Glock 30 Looking for help.....

I have a 10 year old Sig P220 with crimson trace grips and I'm considering trading it in on a new Glock 30 gen 4. I am looking for opinions on this. If I do make a trade like this how much should I be getting for the Sig and how much should I be paying for a new Glock. The Glock is a new out of the box no upgrades. The Sig has had probably 1200-1500 rds fired.

I have both guns. Personally, I like the P220 much more than the Glock as far as comfort shooting. The G30 has a LOT going for it as far as reliability and capacity. IMO the G30 is not a lot of fun to shoot. The P220 is.
YMMV

I prefer my G-21 over the P220 I once had, but I think I'd rather have that P220 over a G-30, strictly "MHO" though.

Just wondering if you have ever fired a Glock before? I assume you have but if not, be aware that you do grip it differently than the SIG. The Sig is more of a natural pointer for me and the Glock requires some adjustment on my part. Just wanted to throw it out there. Just so you know, I am personally a Sig person and own no Glock for the reason I stated above.

Thanks for all the replies I appreciate everything. After throwing a few rounds down range this morning I have decided to stay with the Sig. It just fits better in my hand and with the money I have invested in it just doesn't seem like the right deal. I was attracted to the size of the Glock but the single stack of the Sig feels better. I guess my wife was right size isn't everything haha. Thanks again everyone.

In my area the Sig is $200-$300 more expensive. Does it have enough wear to close the price gap? If not I wouldn't make the trade unless the person with the Glock threw in some cash.

I own Sig, Glock, and various 1911's. The Sig and 1911 are range toys. Glock is the one I trust my life to.

I'm glad you were able to send a few rounds down range before making your decision. There are alot of interesting single stack small 45's out there if your looking for a smaller carry 45 carry gun. S&W Shield, Springfield xd-s 45 come to mind.

I trust my like to SIG and HK just as much as I do Glock.

Now, 1911... That's a range gun for me. I don't see the need to invest so much into getting adequate with them when I am already at the level of maintaining with the 3 on my opening sentence.

Good decision. I wonder why the choice ever came up for a vote. :)

On further review, ...

With GLOCK PERFECTION ever present in all it molecules, the G30 would never have to be (God-forbid) sent back to Sig for repair or other warranty work.

Sig's customer service today just ain't all that great, folks ...

So, on further review, the short-sighted call on the field is reversed. ;)

Sell the Sig for some heavy cash, buy the G30, and spend the extra $$$ on a holster and practice ammo.

You can thank me later.

I have a Glock 30 for my carry gun and love it, I have no problem shooting it with the same ammo I carry in it. I also have a Glock 21 that is fun to shoot. I also have a Colt 1911 that I love to shoot, but the Glock 30 is the one trust to carry.

You made the right choice. I have both guns and I would never sell my German made, folded slide, P220. it is the most accurate .45 ACP that I have and it will hold it's value for years. The G30 will not. I like the G30 and carry one in my car but it's not in the same class as the Sig P220.

I also have both. Actually, my Sig is a P227, but that's basically a double stack P220.

I really didn't want to carry the Sig P227, so I got the Glock 30 to fill that roll.

I'm quite happy to have both of them. But if I had to choose only one, I'd keep the Sig.

On the other hand, if I ever have to hand my gun to a nice policeman for storage in an evidence cage, that's why I bought the Glock. :)

>>Yep, keep the P220 and when you get more funds buy the G30.<<

Because the former will always be worth more than the latter. ;)
