Sig P220 in .38 Super and 9mm - A Question

Ok Sig fans,

When did Sig do away with the Euro mag release for the P220s in 9mm and 38 Super?

I noticed a 10% reduction in value if those calibers came with the Euro release and was curious as to when that "feature" was discontinued.

I think it was during the time when Interarms was importing them (After Browning, before SIGARMS). Can't recall the year. Very late '80s/very early '90s?

Don't think that they dumped the euro mag releases till Sigarms began importing them directly. Got both guns with American releases and they both have only Sig importation marks. The two are also early models.

9mm was discontinued in '91, but the .38 Super continued to be imported for a few more years, apparently.

I found one with KE date stamps yesterday which indicates 1994.

The BlueBook Of Gun Values lists the 9mm as being discontinued in '91 but the .38 Super had no date as to when it was discontinued.

.38 Super was not discontinued till 1999 and is more in abundance than the 9mm. There was a shipment of American 9mm imported after 1991 by a company in Washington state. Don't know exactly when that was. Receiver is stamped "PW Arms, Redmond, Washington". And in Europe, they sell 9mm bull barrel conversions for the .45 ACP gun.

And if you are looking for a extremely rare bird, Sig made a 220P chambered in 30 Luger, American release. Been trying to find one of them for years to round out my collection.
