SIG P220 9mm

Does anyone know of a source for 10rnd magazines for the SIG P220 9mm? These are single stack 9mm's with a standard mag capacity of 9 rounds.

Greetings Mike,
I'm sure there are some stocking dealer's; but they probably would not give you a price
break on such an item? :( Might be easier to obtain them directly from SigArms in Exeter,
N.H.? :)

Mike,

I thought the 9mm Sig P-220 was the Sig P-226. :)

Seriously, I just checked the applicable Sig Web page (http://www.sigarms.com/full_size_classics.htm); it indicates the P-220 is only manufactured in .45 ACP. Maybe some older P-220s were 9x19s, but I've never seen one.

Regards.

RWK, they were definitely made, but it's been a long time. I read about it just a little bit. I think the 9mm 220's were back either while the 220 was still imported by Browning (wasn't it the "BDA" then?) or shortly thereafter--I'd say the last ones were probably made sometime in the '80s.
I'd love to find one for my wife--OK, for me to have a cool pair of twins, but I'd let her shoot it sometimes..... ;)

RWK,

Actually, the first 220's were chambered in 7.65mm and 9mm. It wasn't till later than versions in 45acp and .38super were introducted. They don't make them for the US market anymore in 9mm but they are still around. They actually flooded the market a few years ago when PWA imported some 38 Super 220's and had Sigarms convert them to 9mm for the US market. They were meant for foreign markets (where military calibers are forbidden) but werent selling so they converted them and brought them here. I belive the 9mm version was disc. in 1991. Most of the older versions have the European "heel" magazine release.

Interesting thread. I have a 9mm P220 with a 1982 date code in its proof marks. Like all P220s made back then, it has the "European" mag release. I have three magazines for it, but wouldn't mind adding another. My dealer tells me that these mags are rare, although since the P220 was (and is?) a military pistol in this caliber, I guess that thousands of such mags must exist somewhere in the world.

I have one of the PWA converted .38 Supers and I love it. I think Elliot brothers had some not too long ago. At a decent price too. If you find out where to get extra mags PLEASE :) let the rest of use know.

Well just yesterday I was calling around to local gun places asking about 9mm Sig and this one place had a few P220 in 9mm in the $540 range...so they definitely exist and are out there.

i have a PWArms P220A in 9mm. great gun! i live in Canada and oddly enough, there r at least a dozen in my home town that r P220As with rounded hammer and standard mag release. also interesting is that they do NOT have the PWArms engraving on the frame. all r NIB and r priced very competitively.
