SIG P220 .30 Luger

The SIG P220 in 9mm Parabellum has been the Swiss Army sidearm since 1975, hence designated as the P75 by the army. It replaced the P210 / P49. I was also widely used by police forces across the country, and a good number were built for civilian and sport use. As the Swiss used the 7.65 mm Parabellum cartridge previously in the Swiss Luger, it has remained a popular caliber ever since.

I recently found a nice / almost new P220 in this caliber

The early models had a ridge on the top front of the slide. They are locally referred to as « butt crack » models.

I don't know what I would do with it, but a .30 has an odd fascination for me.

Very nice SIG in a rare (at least in the U.S.) caliber. Never heard of them referred to as "butt crack" models. That's a new one for me. I've heard them called from the other end, "pinched-nose" or "dolphin-nosed" models.

Very nice 220. I have a 228 that was issued to a certain Swiss police unit by the unit crest on the slide.

Ahhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There are pics of that pistol from every angle......except one showing that tiny hole at the muzzle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

.30 is a pain to handload, so I don't shoot it much, but there have been quite a few posts on various forums recently, about well-known 9mm pistols that were also made in .30.
Luger, P-38, Colt Commander, SIG P210, Browning HP; it would make for an interesting collection.
