Im new to TheFiringLine and i hope i posted this is the correct forum thread. But to the matter at hand. Is the Sig P220 Safe to carry cocked and locked or +1?

Not sure I understand your question. For a 220 to be carried " cocked and locked " it would have to be a single action only model...in which case yes, cocked and locked is the way to go. "+1 " to me means one in the chamber and that is not only safe but the best way to carry any model 220. Am I understanding you correctly?

I have a P220 Elite and that gun does NOT have a safety as one would normally consider it.

What passes for a safety is a decocker. What that does is make the gun a double action first shot.

The only Sig that I have that has an actual thumb safety is a 1911.

Hope this helps.
