Sig out of jail today

Bought my first Sig a SP2022 today, looking forward to a range trip.
Oh here in CA we buy and wait ten days for pick up!

I kinda like the ten day rule you have. not that I think it'll save lives, just that it would stop my impulse buying

That must have been a horrendously long 10 days. I bought four handguns over the course of 6 months three years ago. My first purchase was subject to WA's 5-day waiting period and that felt long. For the subsequent three purchases I had my CPL, which negates the need for the waiting period, but twice the FBI placed a 5-day hold on the transfer, which were agonizing. I never did find out why, but they did not object to my fourth purchase.

I've bought 2 new handguns here in Virginia this year. The state makes us complete another form almost identical to the federal form before we can make our purchase. Took me darn near 15 minutes to leave the store with my gun. Our limit of one every 30 days is long gone.

My Sig SP2022 came with a hard plastic type paddle holster from Sig, on the back it says it fits 2009, 2022, 220, 226, 227 MK25 & MK11
I was thinking if the Sig holster fits all of these I wonder if a leather holster for a 220 ETC would fit my SP2022?

My wait is self imposed

My LGS, that I transfer thru, has no problem with holding my firearms until I pick them up all at once. Saves on the NICS fee, just pay once, which usually takes less than 30 minutes to fill out, fax to the state, and receive approval. Just about enough time to find another firearm I can't live without. I wish my FFL holder did that with their transfer fee too. Nice Sig!

It is a good looking and accurate pistol. The grip is very close to the E2 grip I had added to my SIG228.

But when you get it you can almost use it to add a castanet sound to your local latino band. I mean, you shake it and it rattles!

The slide is very, quite a bit, hugely loose on the frame. I cannot imagine it having reliability issues since it is so loose. Yet it is still accurate and easy to shoot.

Which may be why that gun is the new military handgun of the Republic of France.

Looks like the holster that I ordered was listed in stock isn't really in stock but it isn't so now I wait up to 15 weeks or more for it to be delivered, not really happy about it. But it is a style I want.

Does Sig do the micro stamp thing or was this one left in the supply chain when the law went into effect? Anyway, take the gun out and enjoy it.

Same here in Ohio, as long as the FBI is not looking for you for a long list of gun charges you can just walk out with it in minutes. If the FBI is looking for you just go to a gun show and you can purchase anything you want no questions.

Im told there is only one gun with micro stamping and it's the one that was used to show DOJ it worked.

I got this email today concerning the holster, looks like it was in stock after all just in stock in Europe. I saw "in stock" and saw they looked to be in NV so economy shipping from NV to San Diego is usually over night for first class shipping. I hope the holster is worth it!

Please note that Economy shipping is sent from Europe and cannot be tracked, however this service offers great value with its reliable and fast international delivery and low price. Usual delivery time takes about 15 working days. If the package has not arrived in 20 working days after receiving the shipping confirmation email, please contact us, and we will try to resolve the problem.

Well, I sure can believe that. I did some Googling and this is a synopsis of what I found:

1) Micro stamping is required only on new models sold to civilians.

2) Two gun rights groups sued in the California court system and lost.

3) The challenge in the Federal court system was denied, letting the California ruling stand (the law has yet to effect sales).

4) And last, they're arguing over exactly what is a new model. It seems some obscure slight modification, to an existing model, would make it a new model.

So if you have anymore wants, I wouldn't wait too long to fill them. I'm going watch from afar and see how this pans out.

So, congratulations on getting your SP2022. I shot a friend's in 357 SIG over this last weekend and produced and nice 1 1/2" group at 16 yards (surprising myself). You never did state the caliber: 9 mm, 40 S&W or 357 SIG?
