Sig magazines

I have a Sig P228 for which I would like to get a high-cap aftermarket magazine. Anyone have any experience with AM magazines; which is best, reliability, online sources, etc.?

Any info would be appreciated.

I bought some Pro Mag hi caps last summer and they wouldn't even hold 10 rounds or even chamber properly. I was ready to toss them in the garbage. Good thing I didn't. I decided to replace the cheap spring with a Wolffe magazine spring. Now it works almost flawlessly. However, they are strickly used on the range and for practice. Springs cost about $7.50 a piece and the mag cost about $15. Much cheaper than a SIG factory hi cap. Hope this helps.

I second what Destructo6 said : MecGar makes the best aftermarket magazine. they are Original Equipment Manufactures for several Firearms companies. G.R.

Aftermarket magazines are a hit or miss deal. Some will be as reliable as OEM magazines and others will work well as paperweights.

I agree with Blades67 that after market mags are a hit or miss deal. I have two after market hi-caps for a P228 a Promag and a USA and they both work without a hitch, but I have had USA mags that have had problems in other guns. Try to find a dealer that will give you $$ back if the mag fails.

Good Luck
